Plastic Surgeons are admitted to this exclusive society by un-biased members who also maintain practice dedicated to Aesthetics.
Directors and Members are strictly volunteers and NO FEES are charged for application and admittance to maintain the purity and purpose of this organization.
Through this society, members are encouraged to develop close professional relationships in order to advance our mission of elevation and mastery of Aesthetics.
Eligibility
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery ™
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ™
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ™
- Minimum 300 Aesthetic Surgery Cases in each of the last 2 Calendar years (beginning January 1 and ending December 31)
- No patient deaths
- 5 letters of support from previous patients operated on by applicant surgeon
- 50 sets of Before and After photos showing consistent excellence and commitment to Aesthetic Surgery
For the Surgeon:
- We pledge to be volunteer run and in existence just for the benefit of society members and the general public. We are a non-profit and will not engage in politicalization of this society.
- Share information with like-minded individuals encompassing all the accredited specialties that make up aesthetic surgery and mostly work in the private practice setting outside of hospitals.
- Maintain your CME certification through our accredited workshops and meetings, this society does not exist for the purpose of making money.
- In a world of over monetization; no fees, no fancy organization dinners, purely focused on our member surgeons and our patients both getting what they want – the safest, most effective outcomes in the field of Aesthetic Surgery.
For the Public:
- We pledge to be experienced in aesthetic surgery.
- We pledge to only represent safe and experienced plastic surgeons practicing primarily in aesthetic surgery.
- We pledge that all our members have the necessary pre-requisite training (Plastic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery, Oculoplastic Surgery).

The American Board of Aesthetic Surgery was founded by plastic surgeons dedicated to advancing the safety and efficacy of aesthetic surgery as its own field and displaying to the public the merit of choosing surgeons focused and experienced in the sub-specialized field of Aesthetic Surgery, as demonstrated by being a member of the American Board of Aesthetic Surgery.
Through demonstrated expertise and experience in aesthetic surgery, in addition to the full completion of accredited training in one of plastic surgery’s pre-requisite fields, one can become a member of The American Board of Aesthetic Surgery.
